Rex Wee, a tenor with versatile capabilities in both pop and classical vocal performances, graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a degree in music. He further pursued a master's in music, specializing in vocal studies, at National Taiwan Normal University. Rex's voice, characterized as a soft lyrical tenor, was nurtured under the guidance of renowned vocalists, including the esteemed Mahlon Schanzenbach and Dean Kaelin in the United States, and Professor Xue Yingdong in Taiwan.

 During his time in the United States, Rex participated in numerous musicals and operas, such as "Les Misérables," "The Apple Tree," and "Carmen." His operatic roles included portraying the lead character Tamino in Mozart's "The Magic Flute." Upon returning to Taiwan, Rex contributed to various performances with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra's affiliated chorus, engaging in productions like the Taiwanese opera "Yao Ji Legend," the Italian opera "Pagliacci," and other classical concerts, often taking on solo roles.

In 2009, Rex collaborated with New Zealand soprano Hayley Westenra in a performance of "The Moon Represents My Heart" at the Taipei Symphony Orchestra's Mid-Autumn Festival concert. He also performed solo roles in Handel's "Messiah," Mozart's "Coronation Mass," and participated in the 2018 Taipei Symphony Orchestra's "Bernstein Concert." In 2019, Rex received acclaim for his "Lyric Tenor Solo Concert" held at Taipei's Two Hall Theater.

Currently serving as a full-time tenor in the Tianyun Choir, Rex boasts 18 years of vocal teaching experience. He has toured globally, showcasing his talents in cities across countries like New York, the Philippines, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Macau, Hong Kong, Canada, Seattle, Atlanta, Barcelona, Milan, Rome, Paris, Northern Ireland, South Africa, and more.
